Mr. Wellsfry serves as President and Chief Operating Officer at Silver Hill III.  Prior to joining Silver Hill in 2020, he spent five years on the upstream investment staff at EnCap Investments L.P., the leading provider of private equity growth capital to the independent sector of the U.S. oil and gas industry since 1988.  In his role as a Vice President, Mr. Wellsfry was focused on the investment decision process and evaluation of key decisions within the portfolio.

Prior to EnCap, Mr. Wellsfry served as a team lead and asset manager for the Texas Delaware Basin assets at Matador Resources where he oversaw a $200-300 million annual capital budget.  Before joining Matador Resources, Mr. Wellsfry served in production engineering and asset management roles at Samson Resources.

Mr. Wellsfry earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters in Business Administration degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
