Kyle D. Miller President & Chief Executive Officer
Prior to founding Silver Hill, Mr. Miller served as a Principal and Senior Vice President of Energy Trust Partners, LP, where he led the firm's business development and deal sourcing efforts and assisted in the management and oversight of three oil and gas private equity funds with aggregate commitments of $875 million. Prior to joining Energy Trust Partners, Mr. Miller served as a Vice President of Energy Spectrum Advisors Inc., where his experience included sourcing and executing a wide range of oil and gas acquisition and divestiture transactions as well as private placement assignments. Mr. Miller began his career with Wells Fargo Bank and Wells Fargo Energy Advisors in Houston, TX, where he served as an Associate in the energy lending group and worked on A&D advisory assignments. Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University and also attended Washington & Lee University. Mr. Miller is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumnus award from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at SMU. Mr. Miller serves on the 21st Century Council, a primary advisory organization to the President of SMU, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the SMU Mustang Club. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Wildcat Committee, and is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Ft. Worth Wildcat Committee, and the ADAM Energy Forum. Mr. Miller is also an active volunteer and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Children's Medical Center Foundation.
Emery M. Petrof III, P.E. Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Petrof has coordinated numerous large scale reserves and economic evaluations for public and private independents in various unconventional resource plays, including the Eagle Ford, Fayetteville, Haynesville, and Marcellus shale plays, and the Permian basin. Prior to joining the Company in January 2012, Mr. Petrof served as a Vice President in the Dallas office of Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. ("NSAI"), where he coordinated numerous large scale reserves and economic evaluations for public and private independents, and was a key member of the firm's unconventional resources evaluation business. Prior to joining NSAI in 2005, Mr. Petrof served as a Senior Project Engineer at ExxonMobil Production Company where he was the Lead Reservoir Engineer for several South Texas fields. Mr. Petrof received a B.S. in Geo-Environmental Engineering, and an M.S. (honors) in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, both from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Matthew L. Huhnke Senior Vice President — Exploration
Mr. Huhnke has proven experience in exploration, exploitation, and development activities in a variety of basins and has particular expertise and experience in the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico. Prior to joining the Company in March 2012, Mr. Huhnke served as a Geologic Advisor for RKI Exploration & Production, an Oklahoma City based private independent. As lead geologist for assets in the Delaware Basin, he helped develop and implement successful horizontal and vertical drilling programs targeting multiple producing horizons. He was also a key member of RKI's new venture technical evaluation team and was responsible for identifying and developing conventional and unconventional resources with the potential for low risk, highly repeatable drilling on a large scale basis. Mr. Huhnke began his career with Devon Energy Corp., and was responsible for exploration and development activities in the Mid-Continent and Rocky Mountain regions, with a focus on CBM projects. Mr. Huhnke received his B.S. and M.S. in Geology from Oklahoma State University. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Jason A. Gordeuk Vice President — Drilling & Operations
Mr. Gordeuk has managed, implemented, and optimized extended reach horizontal drilling programs in multiple unconventional reservoirs. Prior to joining the Company in April 2012, Mr. Gordeuk served as a Drilling Engineer for Encana Corporation, where he supervised horizontal gas well drilling operations in the Haynesville Shale. He also served as the lead engineer on the drilling optimization team, where he reviewed and implemented new technologies and techniques to improve Encana's drilling performance in the Haynesville. From 2007-2010, Mr. Gordeuk served in a similar capacity for Newfield Exploration Company, where his primary focus was on drilling horizontal wells in the Woodford Shale in Oklahoma. Prior to his career in the oil and gas industry, Jason served as an Engineer Officer in the United States Army for five years, and ultimately obtained the rank of Captain. Mr. Gordeuk received a B.S. in Engineering Management from The United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Association of Drilling Engineers, and the American Legion.
James "Jimmy" C. Potratz Vice President — Completions and Production
Mr. Potratz has strong operational and production experience in a variety of unconventional resource plays, including the Fayetteville, Barnett and Wolfcamp shales. Prior to joining the Company in June 2013, Mr. Potratz served as the Completion Engineer for Approach Resources, where he implemented completion strategies that significantly improved the cost and efficiency of Approach's Wolfcamp shale completions. From 2006-2010, Mr. Potratz served as an Operations Engineer with XTO Energy, where he managed the completion and production operations for significant field in the Barnett Shale. Prior to joining XTO, Mr. Potratz worked as a Production Engineer for Southern Energy during the early stages of Fayetteville Shale development. Mr. Potratz began his career with BJ Services where he obtained management roles and gained experience in several basins including the Permian, Appalachian and North Texas basins. Mr. Potratz received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University and also has an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
F.G. "Chip" Taylor Vice President — Land
Mr. Taylor has over 30 years of experience in a wide variety of oil and gas land related matters encompassing numerous basins throughout the United States. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Taylor served as Land Manager for RKI Exploration & Production where he was responsible for the oversight and management of all land department operations during a period of rapid growth of the company. Prior to RKI, Mr. Taylor served as Vice President and Land Manager for Crawley Petroleum Corporation, a privately held Oklahoma based exploration and production company. Mr. Taylor began his career with Getty Oil Company in New Orleans and has served in a number of staff and management positions with Ladd Petroleum, Petro-Hunt, Gemini Exploration, JSK Resources and Louis Dreyfus. Mr. Taylor received a BBA in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma and is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen and Oklahoma Energy Explorers.
